The Gladstone Employment and Information Forum will bring Employers, Jobseekers, and Service Providers to the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on 22 November 2017; providing a platform for:
• Employment opportunities
• Assistance programs’ rollout
• Skill building workshops; and
• Networking. Background
The Gladstone region has experienced a downturn in its economy after a boom cycle gen

erated by the LNG plant construction. The unemployment rate in Gladstone has increased in the past eight months to 7%. The roll-out of government support, like the Back to Work program, have proved successful in Gladstone with strong uptake by employers. Intent
The Gladstone Jobs Forum seeks to;
• Raise awareness of the support available to both employers and jobseekers;
• Further increase uptake of support programs offered by all levels of government;
• Provide employers with an avenue to advertise jobs for free to a targeted market;
• Provide employers with an avenue to highlight upcoming job opportunities; and
• Unearth the ‘hidden job market’ by providing a free platform that connects all three parties together. Format
The Gladstone Jobs Forum will take the format of an exhibition and include;
• Workshops for job seekers
• Keynote speakers
• Exhibitors including employers, job and training agencies, and government
• A jobs board
