IT'S TOMORROW!

I swear, I can't sleep.

Everything is ready for you, we can't wait to see you!

Visitors: The weather is likely to be cloudy, with a top of 17 degrees and a bit of a south westerly wind, so make sure you dress comfortably for Geelong! if you want to attend one of the tours being put on by the National Wool Museum (11:30 general tour, 1:30 for the curators tour), the meeting point is just inside our market space in the John Hay Courtyard.

In case you missed our earlier post about our demonstrators, here it is again!

GABYS welcomes to our inaugural show on April 18th!

"I started Yarn Me Calm because I know that after having a stressful day, you know the sort I mean, when you feel you have nothing left to give to anyone? I would come home and head straight to my yarn stash. I may not necessarily start crocheting or knitting, sometimes it was just enough to go through the yarn, touch and admire it. You know that feeling you get in touching yarn? Feeling the fibre, how soft and squishy it is and then imagining everything (or nothing!) that you can do with it. This is always the first step for me with using yarn for calming.
I wanted Yarn Me Calm to be more than just providing a product and a service, it needed to be about people. "

With a focus on joy and accessibility, Andrea's yarns will be enjoyed by all.
Welcome Andrea!

GABYS welcomes to our inaugural show, April 18th, 2026.

"Established in 2016 by Belinda Amess originally as a genetic experiment quickly turned into an even bigger love of coloured sheep and then also the Polwarth breed. With the many different colour patterns and Polwarth's docile nature and beautiful wool they are a wonderful addition to our traditional white wooled family farm. All our sheep are unmulesed and live on a farm certified by RWS for using sustainable and ethical farming practices and given even more special treatment than the white sheep."

Belinda will be bringing raw fleeces, natural coloured combed tops, and natural grey and brown yarns, all 100% processed within Australia.

Welcome Wyndara Black Sheep!

GABYS welcomes to our inaugural show on April 18th!

"The Purl Box is a yarn business started way back in 2013 by two good friends - who met at knitting group and realised they thought about yarn a lot! We aim to provide you with quality yarn that lasts and stands the test of time, whether that is our hand-dyed Oyster Yarns or the commercial yarns we stock.

We only carry yarns we love to work with. A particular focus is colourwork - we love to help customers make their own colour selections so they can really make the finished product shine. We are excited to keep bringing you great yarn with excellent customer service this year! "

We are so excited to see what beautiful yarns you will bring Kylie and Anita! Welcome to GABYS!

GABYS welcomes to our inaugural Geelong and Bellarine Yarn Show, April 18th!

"Tarndie (or more respectfully, Tarndwarncoort) is based in South Western Victoria, Australia and has been owned and operated by the Dennis family since 1840. The property is home to Australia’s first breed of sheep - the Polwarth sheep - and its listed buildings reflect the Cornish heritage of the pioneer family.

Tarndie is owned and run by Tom Dennis with his partner Jason Arnall, who work hand in hoof with Tom’s parents Wendy and Dave Dennis who help around the homestead and woolshop. They work alongside Tom’s brother Al Dennis, his partner Jemma Lewis and their two kids, who grow Polwarth wool next door at Moorpark Farm.

The family links extend beyond the boundary fence – Tarndie is surrounded by Dennis cousins on all sides. They grow Merino wool, prime lambs, wheat, canola, beans, Angus cattle – the farming spirit of our early ancestors is alive and strong in Warncoort".

Tarndie has beautiful dyed and natural tops in polwarth and polwarth silk blends, as well as a wide range of their beautiful polwarth yarns.

In addition to being a vendor, Tarndie is also a sponsor of GABYS, which we are very grateful for. We could not create this event without the support of our local industry.

Welcome Tarndie!
