NEW EPISODE OUT NOW
Catherine is joined by Jean Kittson who has spent a lifetime making Australians laugh, but behind the humour is a deeply personal and confronting exploration of death, dying, grief, and the aged care system.
Catherine and Jean discuss how her own fear and avoidance of death transformed into advocacy and education around end-of-life care.

New Episode Tomorrow...
Catherine is joined by Jean Kittson who shares how growing up in a family that never spoke about death left her feeling frightened, unprepared, and emotionally disconnected from grief.
She reflects on the first time she saw a dead body, the misconceptions she held about palliative care, and the surprising warmth, humour, and humanity she discovered within the palliative care community.

In the new episode of Don't Be Caught Dead Catherine and Julian Kingma also talk about the changing media landscape, the ethics of documenting vulnerable moments, and what it means to witness someone’s final chapter with honesty and humanity. This episode is thoughtful, emotional, and incredibly important.

On White Wreath Day, we remember the lives lost to su***de, honour those left behind, and stand with every person currently struggling. 🤍

Behind every statistic is a person.
A family.
A friend.
A story.
A life deeply loved.

Su***de impacts communities across Australia, and conversations around mental health, grief and support matter more than ever. White Wreath Day is held annually in remembrance of all victims of su***de and to raise awareness of the support still needed for individuals and families affected.

If you’re grieving, struggling, or supporting someone who is, know that reaching out is a strength — not a burden.

Today, we remember.
We listen.
We speak up.
We support.
And we continue working towards a future where fewer families experience this loss. 🤍

In the new Don't Be Caught Dead episode what struck Catherine the most throughout this conversation was the care Julian brings into every room he enters. Before the camera comes out, there is listening. There is trust. There is presence. He shares how this project transformed him personally and professionally, challenging the way he approached storytelling and deepening his understanding of grief, fear, compassion, and human connection.

National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) is a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and reflect on the role each of us plays in reconciliation. This year’s theme, *All In*, is a reminder that reconciliation is not passive — it asks all Australians to listen, learn, act and commit every day.

At Critical Info, we know difficult conversations matter. Connection matters. Truth telling matters. And creating safer, more compassionate communities starts with being willing to show up for one another.

Reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility.

How will you be *All In* this week? 🖤💛❤️

Last night, Critical Info was honoured to receive a Commendation for Excellence in Small Business at the Victorian Small Business Awards 2026, held at the National Gallery of Victoria.

The commendation was awarded by The Hon. Natalie Suleyman MP, Minister for Small Business and Family Business, through Business Victoria. With Julian Lyngcoln, Deputy Secretary, Economic Policy, Programs and Services, Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions providing the opening address.

I was incredibly proud to be selected for this recognition following Critical Info previously receiving the 2025 Frankston Business Collective Award for Collaboration and Partnership Excellence. That award led to Critical Info being included among prospective recipients considered by the Victorian Small Business Awards selection committee.

To then be chosen for a state commendation recognising excellence in small business is something I’m deeply grateful for.

Critical Info was built from lived experience and a belief that no person or family should be left navigating illness, ageing, death or bereavement alone or unsupported. What started as an idea has grown into a certified social enterprise supporting individuals, families, healthcare providers, aged care organisations and communities across Australia to better prepare for life’s most critical moments.

Thank you to Business Victoria, the selection panel, and everyone who continues to support and believe in the work we are building.

And thank you to every person, organisation, partner, podcast guest, pilot participant, community member and supporter who has been part of this journey so far. This recognition belongs to all of us.

If you’d like to support the work we are doing, explore partnership opportunities, or learn how Critical Info may be able to support your organisation, workplace or community, I’d love to connect.

This week is National Volunteer Week, Australia’s largest celebration of volunteering. 💛

The 2026 theme, Your Year to Volunteer recognises the incredible people already giving their time, while encouraging others to discover the connection, purpose and impact volunteering can create.

At Critical Info, we see every day how communities are strengthened by people willing to show up for others — whether through grief support, community groups, aged care, emergency response, advocacy or simply checking in on someone who needs help.

Volunteering doesn’t always look the same.
Every contribution matters.
Every conversation matters.
Every act of support matters.

To everyone who volunteers — thank you. And if you’ve ever thought about getting involved, maybe this is your year. 💬
