✨What. A. Journey.✨
Running Wild Australia 100mile Alpine Challenge is complete.
What started as a last-minute decision turned into 8 months of training, countless highs and lows, and the most unforgettable race experience of my life.
⏱️ 29 hours 11 minutes of racing
🥇 1st female
🏅 5th overall out of 31
💥 Fundraising goal smashed by nearly $1500 over
I’m still speechless. Completely blown away.
But here’s the truth—this wasn’t just my achievement. It was OURS.
This goal could never have been reached without the community that surrounded and lifted me every step of the way.
To everyone who supported me—whether it was a donation, a training session, a long run, a recovery massage, a kind word, or a moment of belief—thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You made this happen.
💛 Zac, my FOMO friend who unknowingly started it all 2 years ago—Running the first 40km of this race with you was such a joy—and our first time sharing trail miles mid-race! I’m sure it won’t be out last.
🌄 Britta Weller, who inspired me to sign up in the first place and taught me what strength, presence, and a love for trails really looks like
🏃 Kent, the ultimate weekend warrior who showed up for the wild elevation days—what didn’t kill you definitely made you stronger 😉
💆 Tarsha, thank you for all the recovery work and bringing back the joy (and pain) of dry needling
👐 Pip Severin, for jumping in during the final stretch and providing pre-race therapy magic when I needed it most.
🏋️ Lee from Mountain Gym—your strength training sessions made all the difference. You helped make my body strong and resilient enough to handle the crazy mileage I put it through. Because of you, I finished this challenge pain-free—which was not something I expected! And was able to return to work the next day almost like nothing had happened 😱
🚗 Peps, thank you for being the chief support crew legend—pulling an all-nighter, driving my brothers around, restocking my pack at every checkpoint, and making sure I had everything I needed to keep going. Your assistance was much appreciated and so grateful to have had you there.
👣 To both my brothers—thank you for stepping in as pacers for the final 60km. It was an incredible experience to have you join me on this adventure and great to catch up again.
👨👩👧👦 And to my family, thank you for always supporting my wild running adventures—even if you don’t quite understand why I keep doing this to myself 😅. Your love and presence mean everything.
To the amazing local businesses who donated to our raffle nights—you brought the fun and the fuel to this fundraiser.
And to every single legend who donated—your generosity made this goal real. You helped turn an idea into a mission, and a mission into a moment I’ll carry forever.
I hope following this journey has inspired you to chase down your own goals—because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
Big goals are possible—but they take a village.
And…
Happiness is only real when shared. 🌿 (quote from, Into the Wild)
So what now?
You’d think I’d rest, right?
😅 Nope.
In just 2.5 weeks, I’ll be lining up at the Two Rivers Backyard Ultra in Echuca.
The challenge? One loop every hour… until I literally can’t run anymore.
Because clearly, sleep is optional. 😂
Let’s go. Round 2. Watch this space—it’s about to get interesting.
