An Embodied Nexus: The Menagerie

Step into a world of imagination, curiosity and creativity!

Featuring the work of young artists and curators Ayden Freestone, Elijah Beriman, Emily Burgess, Jessica Knight, Olivia Lees and Saylah Tarrant, this exhibition brings characters and creatures to life through artwork and animation while exploring the wonders of our natural environment.

2026 Lockington Mural Competition Underway!

The Arts & Culture team visited the Lockington Community Centre to discuss the upcoming Campaspe Artist in Residence (CAIR) Program, launching later this month. We’re excited about the possibility of the centre hosting an artist or creative in 2027.

While there, we caught the first day of the 2026 Lockington Mural Competition, with talented young artists including Grace Murphy and Art by Greta🎨🖌️✨ bringing their large-scale mural designs to life. These artworks will soon be installed at the Community Park Pump Track.

It was fantastic to meet the artists, hear about their creative process, and share information about the CAIR Program. We hope to see some of these emerging local creatives submit an Expression of Interest. Watch this space! 👏✨

Lockington Neighbourhood House

The Lonely Hut is coming to the Kyabram Town Hall Gallery from 4-30 September, with an official opening from 6pm to 8pm on this Friday, 4 September.

Everyone is welcome!

This unique exhibition features the celebrated printmaker David Fraszer’s “The Lonely Boy III” alongside 13 rarely seen works from Council’s George Rathbone Collection.

Explore stories of place, history and isolation through striking Murray River landscape artworks.
