Last Saturday, we hosted WHISPERFEST IV, by far our biggest so far with more than double the tickets we sold last year, and easily the biggest metal show Dubbo has seen in…. a long, long time!
There are so many people we need to thank for their assistance putting this on:
- thanks to Macquarie Inn Dubbo for being so good to work with. We love putting on shows in that room and the staff there made every effort to accommodate our needs and help us run a smooth and safe event!
- Tyson & Dane, who ran our sound & lighting, respectively. Every year the production gets bigger and you guys knocked it out of the park at Whisperfest IV!
- Kaitlyn Baker, who spent hours working behind the scenes to set up the decorations. The Dive Bar Wall was a hit, and having cool signs, barrels, lollies, beach balls - all these things that add to the overall experience are thanks to her work!
- The Cert III Music Industry students from Dubbo College Senior Campus who worked tirelessly for two days, setting up rigging, PAs, security fencing, tables, and then packing it all down again and bumping it out in a matter of hours. Thanks so much to you and to Tim Billiards for coordinating it!
- Thanks to Tim Hosking who manned the door and our merch all night. We get very busy at these kind of shows and having someone reliable to help cover these jobs was invaluable. Thanks mate!
- Jess Ashdown Capture the Sound Photography who came up from Sydney to do the photography, for capturing the energy and excitement of the event!
- Our sponsors Dubbo Regional Council, SOMAD, MacqCon & Legends Music Shop without whom this event just wouldn’t be possible. Ticket sales help us pay the bands but don’t cover production, hire and promotion costs - we are extremely grateful for your support!!
- Western Women's Legal Support for partnering with us to raise over $850 for victims of domestic violence!
- Obviously we need to thank the bands: many of whom travelled a LONG way to be a part of it. We were very pleased with the quality of the lineup but without bands willing to travel a long way and still put on incredible shows, the festival wouldn’t be what it is.
- Thanks so much to everyone who put up a poster, shared the event, invited their mates, and helped get word out - your contribution has clearly produced results!
- Mick Davis for offering his trailer to pick up and deliver the security fencing!
- Lastly, all the attendees. Thank you so much for the support you continually give us. We won’t lie - in the past we’ve wondered if Whisperfest was worth the time and energy we put in, but you all turned up big time this year and we are keen for another run in 2027!!
