The Steampunk HQ in Oamaru is a one-of-a-kind interactive museum and art gallery housed in an 1883 stone building, showcasing retro-futuristic sci-fi artwork, large recycled-metal sculptures, and a steam-powered locomotive that shoots flames.

“Frontiers of Steam” will be the theme as the Steampunk NZ festival returns May 28-June 1 to Oamaru, New Zealand. Attendees can look forward to a wide range of activities at multiple locations in the town’s storied Heritage Precinct.

Dimboola is fortunate to host one of Australia’s few active printing museums, a true treasure trove of a bygone letterpress era. It is accessible only by private appointment through the Dimboola Historical Society. Additionally, open days will be organised during next year’s Wimmera Steampunk Festival.

From the Carnival of Peculiarities to the Starfarers Jubilee, the theme for the 2027 Wimmera Steampunk Festival is 19th-century space travel. The festival aims to become a premium costume event that will draw visitors to our region.
