Established in 2009, Kath Papas Productions works collaboratively with artists and organisations to develop, present and tour original works which inspire and break new ground. We take a particular interest in contemporary dance and cross-cultural work, and we are very engaged in Asia through our artists and collaborations. Based in Melbourne, Australia, our work spans regional, national and inter

national spheres. Current works in our portfolio include touring works Zero Zero (Tony Yap, Yumi Umiumare & Matthew Gingold), Rasa Saying (Tony Yap Company) and Reliquary (Soo Yeun You & Gina Rings). Works in development include [Gu:t] (Soo Yeun You) presented as a work in development as part of Dance Massive 2013, Kekkai: beyond fixed boundaries (Tony Yap Company & Theatre Nottle (South Korea).

Gapu Ngupan in Taiwan day 8. We have had a great first week exchanging and creating in the studio in Taitung. Yesterday we drove north to Pacifaran, the traditional territory of ‘Etolan Amis village, on the Pacific coast. After paying respect to Ancestors, young people from the community welcomed us with music and dance, and our Yolngu family shared manikay (song) and bungul (dance) in response. We also shared some of our work in development. It was a very special afternoon of deep exchange of cultures. The house seen here is a place for worship of the Amis ocean god.

Gapu Ngupan Day 1 in Taitung. We had generous and fascinating presentations sharing about Paiwan and Amis culture and history from our collaborators Ljius and Suming, followed by a magnificent dinner at a local Indigenous-run restaurant. So it begins!
