Congratulations to Stephen Miller on winning the West Area Championship on behalf of everyone at Bute Clay Target Club.

This title remains with our club for another year following Leighton Reid’s success the previous year β€” a fantastic achievement for the members and a great reflection of the high standard of shooting at Bute.

During the competition, the DTL Home International Trophy was also in attendance as part of its tour around several shooting grounds. Last year the trophy was won by Scotland, ending a 43 year wait since it was last brought home, whom Leighton was a apart of.

Well done Stephen, and congratulations to everyone involved in continuing the club’s success.

Great day was had at our local May Shoot. Conditions were about as good as you could ask for, which led to some very tight scoring and a shoot-off for four of the cups.

We finished off with a competitive Annie Oakley, with Alistair Carmic taking the win on the day.

Results are as follows
1st 10 A&B Shield - Ian Dawson
2nd 10 Angelino Trophy - David Reid
3rd 10 - Marcus of Bute Trophy - Toni Sambucci
4th 10 - Richardson Cup - Stephen Miller
Double Rise - West End Trophy - Thomas Cousins

Local and Open High Gun Watson and McLennan Cup - Alan Brown

Ladies Trophy was won jointly by Daisy Robertson and Hazel Robertson.

Pull Trap winner - Ronald Robertson

What a day for a Boxing Day shoot!!
We had 44 guns from far and wide and the weather was perfect.
Ally Carmichael won the 1st 15.
Leighton Reid won the 2nd 15.
Carter won the 10.
Mark Lowe won the double Rise after a shoot of with β€˜Kenny’
The ladies trophy went to Hazel Robertson.
The Novice Trophy was won by Peter Malcolm.
Dean Robertson beat his Brother and Dad in the 15 target beginners

James Carter took the local High Gun
The overall high gun was won by Keith β€˜kenny’Andrew.

Tom young beat Marty Somerville in a shoot off for the pull trap by shooting from the hip.

Well done to all the winners and thanks to everyone who helped throughout the day.
