The Executive of the Australian Sheep Breeders Association made the decision yesterday to cancel the 2020 Australian Sheep and Wool Show scheduled for July 17-19 this year. Like many of you we had remained hopeful we could run this major event but it became clear this week that this could not be. The 2021 event is scheduled for July 16-18, we will keep you updated.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

With just 16 seats left at this year's Women of Wool Luncheon 2019, we are thrilled to have our event founder, Jacqueline McArthur join us on stage as our fourth ambassador this year.

2019 is the 11th year of our Women of Wool luncheon, a time to reflect on the decade past and commence the conversation about the next ten years.

We’re talking with four incredible women from very different areas of the Australian sheep and wool industry, on their thoughts, fears, and hopes for the future, and the women who will drive them.

• Alexandra Gartmann

CEO of Rural Bank, and our MC for this event, Alexandra is also the former CEO of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), a charitable foundation based on a partnership between philanthropy, community, government, and business supporting the economic prosperity of rural, regional and remote communities across Australia. Alexandra discusses the current state of play and the future of Agri banking.

• Jacqueline McArthur

Founder of the Women of Wool event, Jacqui is a communication specialist and innovative changemaker across agricultural, environmental, clean tech and sustainable property sectors - and a farmer. We reflect on the original need and vision for WOW, farming families and where will succession will, or will not, take us.

• Georgina Wallace

Multi Australian National Fleece Champion, former President of Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders and owner of Tasmania’s Trefusis Merinos. What action has been taken over the past decade, what are the new market challenges, changes, and opportunities?

• Collette Garnsey OAM

Chairman of AWI, advisor to CSIRO and former director of Australian Fashion Week are just a small few of Collette’s achievements. With 30 years’ experience in department stores, global brands and designers, Collette will discuss her thoughts on the future of fashion.
