Yarrabilba parkrun

Yarrabilba parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k event every Saturday morning at 7am at Darlington Parklands. Everyone is welcome to walk, run or volunteer.

Yarrabilba parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 7am at the Yarrabilba Estate, approx 48km south west of Brisbane's CBD. parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. It offers an opportunity for all the local

community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful surrounds and get physically active at the same time. We want to encourage people to jog or
run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE!

Guest Run Report by Robin Rishworth:

Yarrabilba parkrun Event number 591,
30th May 2026
On a fine morning of about 17 degrees- a good temperature for running - 122 participants completed three and half laps of Darlington Parklands with over 50m of vertical altitude gain and fall.
The entire course was on solid concrete with a short wooden boardwalk section on the final lap. It appears to measure longer than 5km, I recorded 90 metres too long.

Michelle Bass was Run Director today for the 30th time. Michelle has volunteered considerably more times than she has run and her next run will be her 100th milestone.

Six people completed their first ever parkrun here this morning, well done to Brodie, Ella, Renna, Aaron, Jillian and Jossi.
Laith and Ben Flint completed their 25th parkrun. Cat Brice as tailwalker completed her first volunteer.
Partcipants travelled from around Greater Brisbane and Victoria to attend this week’s event.
Several people also completed their first Australian alphabet here today.

This week 122 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 31 were first timers and 10 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 9 different clubs took part.
Thankyou to the 13 volunteers:
Craig Williams, Pete Burns, Spencer Robinson, Robin Rishworth, Cat Bice, Abigail, Caleb and Beauden Blake, Brooke Staff, Peter and Shane Flaherty, Michelle Bass and Zeta Blackburn.

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Yarrabilba parkrun Results Page, link is below.

It’s looking good fellow parkrunners. The weather gods have predicted that there will be clear weather this coming Saturday. So get your gear ready, set the alarm and make sure you are standing at the start/finish line for the run briefing to begin at approx. 6:50am. All roles are filled so no last minute calls for help. Don’t forget your hydration, keep your dogs on a short, hand held leash and if your attending child is under 11 years old they need to run/walk with you at all times. Please park your vehicle in one of the many legally available spaces. I would suggest that you do not park in the yellow-lined garbage truck spot - it costs more!!!

See you all on Saturday.
