Danny's "CoppaFeel" Run for Awareness 2015 Danny's "CoppaFeel" and "Breast Cancer Care" Run for Awareness. Dubai Standard Chartered Marathon -23rd Jan 2015. Its my 3rd attempt.

Dear Friends,

Its that time of year again - Just need your awareness!!!!!! I'm running in the Dubai Standard Chartered Marathon again on Friday the 23rd of Jan. As you read through this, all I want is your awareness and to make a small difference in people's life's. Ultimately if through this we are saving just 1 life - it makes a difference - Pass on the message. A few years ago both my daughte

r(age 25 at that time) and my mother(age 75 at that time) were diagnosed with breast cancer within a year of each other. Mum first and then my daughter, mum had a lumpectomy and my daughter ended up having a mastectomy. I wont go into the gory details but the great news is that both have fully recovered and have been clear now for nearly 5 years. Obviously, as men, we will never fully understand what women have to go through during this time. Both my ladies were shining examples and courageous throughout - never complained and just got on with it. I'm the lucky one, I still have both of them in my life and am so grateful. I want to try and do my bit by raising more awareness and by doing this marathon again and sending this message I hope it will give inspiration to others. Please look at www.coppafeel.orglook at Kris' Story - "CoppaFeel"

Don't ignore - 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer - earlier detection can save lives - "CoppaFeel"

Breast cancer is indiscriminate - no boundary's in terms of race, creed, colour or age - earlier detection can save lives - "CoppaFeel"

Grand Mothers, Mothers, Wife, Aunts, Sisters, Daughters, Nieces - "CoppaFeel"

Guys - get the message across to the important ladies in your lives - "CoppaFeel"

I don't want money or any donations - all I want is for this message to be passed on and if this saves even 1 life by earlier detection - then its all worthwhile. My inspiration for this is my Mum and Daughter - they have come through this and Kris' story is to be an inspiration to others. My amazing daughter is also heavily into running and has completed a few half marathons and some of the craziest running challenges as well!! She is also competing in this years London Marathon in April and you can help her raise money for "Breast Cancer Care" by logging in to her just giving page..........

I want this message to strike home, check and double check - don't be put off - ask for a 2nd opinion - be happy with the examinations and doctors advice. Remember - there is always help at hand - always advice to be given and technology is advancing in leaps and bounds every day. Don't think about it, don't just talk about it - do something about it and CoppaFeel !!!!!!!! Have a great day and a fantastic long life ahead. - Love to All x

BOOM! Finished the Dubai Marathon. Not my best time but considering all the injuries and no training this week. AMAZED. ...

Dear Friends,

Don't worry - I'm not asking for any donations, money or assistance..........just your awareness!!!!!!

I'm running in the Dubai Standard Chartered Marathon this Friday the 25th of Jan. Its my first ever marathon and at my age I must be mad!!!!!!

Over the past few months, during my training runs, I have been thinking of a cause to make my efforts worthwhile.

Yes, charities need cash, and in this day and age its the norm to raise money through special events and donate money in that way. You can still donate if you want!

This time for me, its different........As you read through this, all I want is your awareness and to make a small difference in people's life's. Ultimately if through this we are saving just 1 life - it makes a difference - Pass on the message and "CoppaFeel".

As some of you may already know, a few years ago both my daughter(age 25 at that time) and my mother(age 75 at that time) were diagnosed with breast cancer within a year of each other (Double whammy!!!!!!!!)

Mum first and then my daughter, mum had a lumpectomy and my daughter ended up having a mastectomy.

I wont go into the gory details but the great news is that both have fully recovered and have been clear now for 2 years.

Obviously, as men, we will never fully understand what women have to go through during this time.

Both my ladies were shining examples and courageous throughout - never complained and just got on with it.

I'm the lucky one, I still have both of them in my life and am so grateful.

I want to try and do my bit by raising more awareness and by doing this marathon and sending this message I hope it will give inspiration to others.

Please look at www.coppafeel.org look at Kris' Story - "CoppaFeel"

Come and support me and all the runners on the day, I will be way way way at the back of the field but determined to finish even if I have crawl !!!!

My inspiration for this is my Mum and Daughter - they have come through this and Kris' story is to be an inspiration to others.

Have a great day and a fantastic long holiday week end - Love to All x
