Could AI-designed drugs change how we approach biological aging?

New clinical findings from Insilico Medicine suggest that its AI-designed drug candidate, rentosertib, may influence biological aging markers.

The study, involving 42 patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, found reductions in predicted biological age across six independent aging clocks, with one model indicating up to six years of reversal.

Dr. Lata Singh is a Principal Scientist-II in the Department of Pediatrics at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. She completed her PhD from AIIMS, New Delhi, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of California, Irvine, USA, before joining AIIMS as Principal Scientist. Her research focuses on cancer molecular biology, ocular oncology, cancer genomics, and multi-omics approaches to understand disease biology from the last 15 years and identify clinically relevant biomarkers and therapeutic targets in this field. In addition to her work on retinoblastoma, uveal melanoma, acute myeloid leukemia, and other cancers, she is also investigating transcriptomic and metabolomic signatures in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis to better understand disease mechanisms and support precision medicine approaches.
