One of my all-time favorite Rooftop Rhythms’ memories came from .awad and the .community family.

The team worked with poets of determination to write and perform their own work at one of our shows. We always aimed for inclusivity and Blank Canvas helped us to do that in the most beautiful and authentic way possible.

Our founder enjoyed performing today at to celebrate their Languages Week with a performance for 300 students as well as performance workshops for Years 4-5 and GCSE students. The future of poetry and Spoken Word is in good hands.

Poetry Feature Showcase by Rooftop Rhythms at Manar Abu Dhabi Festival

The UAE’s leading poetry collective presents top contemporary poets performing thought-provoking compositions in a fresh and exciting way.

Note: The line up for Jan 12 will be Danabelle Gutierrez, Salem Al Attas, Saif AlShehhi, Qutouf Yahia, and Mehran Azzam with Oud accompaniment by Osama Salloum.

To attend our Manar Abu Dhabi Performances at Samaliya Island on Jan 12 at 6:30pm, please note boats run starting from 5 pm every half hour. Park at Yas Bay at least 30 min before boat departure, head to the ticketing booth to buy your ticket (25 AED) and walk straight to the dock to take the boat. Upon your arrival at Samaliyah Island take the direction towards Mohammed Kazim artwork, then towards the stage.

Rooftop Rhythms Poetry Open Mic #101, scheduled for Oct 27, and Rooftop Jr., our youth writing workshop and poetry open mic scheduled for Oct 28, will be postponed.

While we strongly believe that poetry platforms are vital spaces for our community, we have decided to pause our events out of sensitivity to those who are grieving during these difficult times.

We will make updates regarding our next editions of each event when the timing is appropriate to do so. Thank you in advance for understanding.
